Ravensgate is
an FRPG setting created using the revised edition of Villains & Vigilantes
by Jeff Dee and Jack Herman, published by Fantasy Games Unlimited. The
player-characters from The Foundry superhero group were created using its
rules, and the ongoing campaign combines FTF and PBEM elements.
This website is a work of interactive fiction. Any fictional characters’
resemblance to real-world persons, living or dead, is coincidental and
unintentional. Some real-world politicians and public and historical figures
may be named but purely for background purposes.
Atlas Games’ On The Edge CCG and the writings of William S. Burroughs
inspired many of the background characters. Throckmorton Device and Al-Amarja
are trademarks of Atlas Games, as features of its On The Edge CCG and Over
The Edge FRPG. Throckmorton and d'Aubaine family histories in The Foundry
are inspired by both games, which are copyrights and trademarks of Atlas
Games. Also, any Star Trek–related references, homages or fan-fic are in no
way intended to infringe upon the trademarks of Paramount Pictures.
The gaming group views role-playing, not roll-playing, as a form of
four-dimensional interactive storytelling. While the Gamemaster presents the
overall plot outline, how the plot develops is according to the motivations,
actions and interactions of both player- and non-player characters. That
having been said, any prejudices and other oddball viewpoints portrayed
herein are strictly those of individual characters, and they are portrayed
in the interest of pseudo-realism.
